PARENTAL SUPPORT AND ENGLISH ACHIEVEMENT: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF ACADEMIC SELF-CONCEPT

The contribution of parental support to academic achievement has been adequately explored. However, the mediating mechanisms between and should be more studied, especially in teaching English as a foreign language (EFL). Consequently, this study was designed examine whether self-concept among Chinese EFL learners. Participants were 499 secondary learners selected through convenience sampling. relationship support, self-concept, explored by structural equation modelling analysis (SEM) mediation while controlling for gender age. Results showed that could affect directly indirectly self-concept. Additionally, fully mediated achievement.
